Foley Effects
Foley effects are the production and recording of sound effects. Sounds like glass breaking, walking on snow, doors are usually created by Foley effects to make it more realistic. For wild tracks the background will blend in to the scene like crowded street, school or busy restaurant. They are known as off-screen sounds because it is sound recorded after the footage.
Theme music for title sequence
The Theme music is a sound track that plays in the beginning and the end of a show or movie. Most of the time they would have catchy music and a recognisable music so that you would know what show is coming on from the music sequence.
Film Score
A Film score is original music specifically written for that type of show or movie and timed at the begin and end of the scene. Film score would add more emotion and drama to the scene.
Character's signature tune
A Character's signature tune is when there is a character in film and there is a type of music that plays indicating that the character is here. Like the prowler in spider verse there's always this loud eerie music that would play anytime he would appear.
Incidental music
incidental music is when there is music used in a film or play as a background and what that would do is create or enhance an atmosphere in that particular scene.
Voice Overs
A voice over is a production technique where a voice is recorded off screen. Voice overs are usually used to tell stories or using it for a cartoon character that's talking. Voice overs create more meaning and would make the film or show less boring.
Scripted Speech
Scripted speech is prepared and written down in advance. They are used to give the actors a clear idea on what they need to say and help them in the process.
